Research project: Developing a guideline on symptom assessment and clinical applicability of computer symptom assessment
Aim is to develop an evidence based guideline on the clinical applicability of symptom assessment using the scientific output of the different PhD students already working in the project together with conducting original research, and working with experts in this field. Guideline development will follow standard methods, and involved the other organizations in EUROIMPACT.

Other key activities include: to undertake research in the field of palliative and end-of-life care in a European context, to prepare reports and scientific publications, to assist in the dissemination of results, and to represent the project and department and to attend and provide research training specific to the project.

Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Head of Macmillan Survivorship Research Group

We are seeking an exceptional, well-organised, motivated, flexible and experienced Senior Research Fellow to join the group to take responsibility for delivering our on-going projects and support the development of further research. The successful applicant will be the Deputy Head of the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group [MSRG] under the leadership of Dr Claire Foster.

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivery of the established programme with the support of the Head of the MSRG. This will involve taking overall responsibility for planning and delivering the research projects, project management of specific areas of research activity, supporting and conducting quantitative analysis of the cohort and trial datasets, and supervising and taking responsibility for the research team.

The successful applicant will have relevant research experience in cancer survivorship or a related area such as chronic illness management. The successful applicant will have experience of, and well developed skills in quantitative research including managing multisite studies; quantitative data management and analysis. Preference will be given to candidates who have had experience of working with people with cancer.
